Weekly Update: February 10, 2020

Our first General Body Meeting is this week! We'll be discussing some back-to-school basics including membership requirements and handing out our club t-shirts! We're looking forward to seeing you all there and kicking off a great semester!

Elections are coming up! We will be accepting nominations at our next General Body Meeting! In order to be nominated, a third party must nominate you, and an additional person must second your nomination. You MUST be present at the Second General Body Meeting in order to be nominated. Only Juniors who are active members this semester may be nominated. If you are interested in running for a position, please feel free to reach out to this year's e-board member to learn more about their position!

In addition, panels will be starting next week on Monday, Friday 17! Panels will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. You must attend SIX technicals this semester to be an active member. More details to come!

As a reminder, there is an IIA IT Audit event on Thursday, March 5 from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm. Please reach out to Kirsten Byman if you would like to attend any part of the event!

There is a Sophomore Information Session this week! If you have any questions about Accounting as a major this is a great event to attend. Registration begins at 4:45 pm and there will be a reception to follow!

The Workplace Clothing Drive begins this week! Any donations of well maintained business professional or casual clothing is greatly appreciated! This is a fantastic way to get a head start on earning community service credits!

The IIA is hosting an IT Audit Seminar Thursday, March! If you cannot attend all day, try to attend for a portion of the seminar! This is a great way to satisfy your IIA requirement and learn more about IT Audit. See the flyer for details.

CTBK L.E.A.D. Summit

CTBK has started recruiting for their Summer 2020 L.E.A.D. Summit!

The L.E.A.D Summit is a one-day leadership program where accounting students and potential intern prospects will receive the opportunity to get to know the CTBK team, their clients, and more about public accounting in general! This is a really great way to put yourself out there and network with professionals in accounting so it is highly recommended that you apply!

The posting can be found on BizLink until Sunday, February 23 and on-campus interviews will occur Tuesday, March 10.

Ampadu Bowl!

It's almost time for our Third Annual Ampadu Bowl! 

This is a great way to get to know your classmates and have some fun playing flag football (and eating food, of course)! UBAA is currently the two-time champion of Ampadu Bowl so let's get it! We hope to see you there!

The PwC Challenge is quickly approaching! This is a great opportunity to gain experience with case competitions and network with PwC professionals! Make sure you complete your team registration by this Friday, October 25! Additional details can be found on the attached flyer, please feel free to reach out with any questions. Lastly, Ampadu Bowl is coming up on Friday, October 26! This is a flag football game between the members of UBAA and Beta Alpha Psi. Everyone is welcome to come to play and hang out, food will be provided! UBAA is currently in possession of the trophy so let's bring it! More information about the time and location will coming soon!

PwC Case Competition

PwC is hosting their annual case competition! This is a great way to become more involved in accounting and network not only with your peers but accounting professionals!

School of Management Donation Drive
The UB School of Management is organizing a Donation Drive in order to collect school supplies to help students around the world.
You can earn one hour of community service credit for every two items you donate! You can earn a total of three community service hours.
